SUMMARY

American Botanical Pharmacy is the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Dr. Schulze’s original clinical herbal formulae. Dr. Schulze’s herbal formulas and programs have been used for decades to help tens of thousands increase their energy and vitality, and create powerful health naturally. American Botanical Pharmacy was founded in 1994 and is based in Marina del Rey, California.

We are growing and seek a Materials Manager to who shares our passion and commitment to strengthening and growing our brand and business. The successful candidate will use his/her leadership skills to develop and manage all supplier relationships while assuring materials flow, accuracy of inventories, including all transactions, procurement, planning, scheduling, cost, warehouse, receiving, and shipping enabling timely order fulfillment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the periodic physical inventories of raw materials and finished goods
  • Plan and prepare production schedules for manufacturing of herbal products. Create and maintain a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer sales orders
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures for procurement of all production and non-production material for company use in a timely manner
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers involved with ordering, receiving, inventorying, issuing and shipping raw materials, supplies, and finished goods
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Improve and maintain inventory control procedures and documentation for all raw materials and supplies
  • Produce MRP schedules
  • Create performance metrics and reports
  • Have a strategic business approach to decision making and project management; understanding production flow, timing, materials, and being able to flex with changes that affect ordering and scheduling
  • Continuous improvement thought process, evaluate what's working or not working and adjust accordingly

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience in planning, logistics and/or procurement planning
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of MRP, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management principles required
  • Excellent problem solving skills (define, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proactive, results driven, and a keen sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written, at all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor's Degree required

We offer market rate or higher, depending on experience. Our compensation package also includes:
